I have wanted to be an IAS officer for as long as I can remember. My
family comprises my father who is a professor, my mother, a homemaker and my
younger brother who is an advocate. Together they comprise the trinity which
has stood by me in all my struggles, encouraged me when I became weak, cheered
me on my achievements and told me to never give up.
I graduated with flying colors, topping not only my branch but the entire university. I always wanted to go for IAS preparation in Delhi.
I prepared and gave my first attempt from Ludhiana in 2002 but couldn’t make it. I once again picked up the threads and gave my second attempt from Delhi in 2005 but failed once more.
I had an intense desire to prove myself and decided not to give up till at least I was satisfied that I had from my side tried my utmost to achieve my dream, no matter what the result.
Then I realized that I need to go to the place where the IAS preparation is best in India. IAS Coaching Delhi has become synonym of success these days.
It was only after the exams got over, that the realization struck me full force that not only was I down to my last attempt, but another year of my life too was over without any result. To say I was totally depressed at that time would be a great understatement.
It was at this most troublesome and disheartening juncture in my life that my family and good friends proved to be my pillars of support. Slowly I regained my confidence. I also prayed, meditated and read the Bhagwad Gita, which helped me remain calm and focused.
Then I decided to go for IAS Coaching in Delhi in October 2005. The experience gained in the GS course at the ALS improved my preparation drastically and also gave me confidence in my answer-writing skills. I did not join any coaching for the optional though and chose to study them on my own.
